Wow I've never seen a crane game that big before either! I wonder if they've adjusted the tightness of the crane "claws" to enable you to even pick up toys that big?   My guy is still totally into crane games, and he's 47, so you're not the only...

Hehe, good to hear it's not just me! And yes, I too got some tricks on my sleeve to increasy winning chances in crane games. Because even if the gripping power is good, they're usually low on tightness on the bottom side of the claw. The trick is to...

Interesting rundown, Slaz. I never had a GameCube or Wii. I went from N64 to PS2 for the Grand Theft Auto games. I may need to pick up a new console when the next GTA comes out.

Thanks! And for Grand Theft Auto 4, you'll have to pick a Xbox360 or a PS3. Both aren't very different from each other, it's more about which company you prefer, Sony or Microsoft. Nintendo and the Wii are made for casual but fun games and great...

I thought this was neat, even if it were a bit over my head.  You know I am a great fan of the older games.  These new ones are more for the bigger gamers I think.  Either way,  I like them all!

I often wonder if there are any old diehards that still play on the old platforms, what could be better than using retro, not the remakes or the emulations but the real thing, wish I had kept some of my sons old stuff.

Kind of related, but not.  Apparently the first Generation PS1 was built out with very high quality sound capabilities.  Various audiophiles claim that as a CD player one would have to spend around $6000 to equal it's performance. Whoda...

Considering most people plugged the PS1 into older tv's for kids to play with, it amazing to think of all that audio power being wasted. Wonder what the makers intentions were at the time?

Only the diehard gamers from that time had a PS1 connected to an expensive audio system. I don't even have my Xbox/Wii connected to a Dolby Surround system. Anyway, does anyone here remember the old Sega Mega Drive? It was somewhat a SNES clone, but...

Good to hear that I was right about that name. And currently, Sega is making multi-platform games like Sonic especially for Nintendo consoles. But I'm still more of a PC gamer.

I'm using a pretty good gamepad with two control sticks and like 8 buttons. Most games run fine with it, altrough I play Jazz Jackrabbit (where my name and pic came from) and other good old PC platformers with the keyboard. I also have an old Gravis...

I saw your point too MaryB, if I had to suggest a console to a young child, I would sure tell him about the Wii and it's games. And that game was pretty funny!

I have not used consoles for a while now but the appeal they hold is their simplcity and ease of use. Still have a slight problem with which one is for me though.

Now I'm going to say it even if it is not in the running, but for ease of use and you just cant kill the thing, the N64 was the greatest.  The pc games require more hand coordination that I just dont have.  But that is my opinion, I am sure...

I agree that the N64 was one of the best consoles of the 90's. The controller was easy to use and the games were fun. You will remember Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario 64. And when I talked about PC gaming, I didn't really meant strategy styled games...
