My home area used to be nothing but fruit gardens and farmland before there was a neighborhood, so there are still lots of leftover fruit trees in the area. During autumn, each every few years these old trees produce a minor fruit harvest, and since...

Mmmm....that looks lovely! Well done!   We have a lot of pears in the fridge that are supposedly "ripening". Eventually I'll try my hand at a pear, but I've been finding pear recipes on Pinterest to try--like this one: ...

A while back I noticed my October 2013 post showing a pear pie I baked. Well, the pear tree in our garden spawned even more pears this year and earlier too! So I decided to follow the same recipe and bake it again. This time however, I made the pears...

Thanks Lori. And those roasted pears look nice, and not too hard to make.   Hmm, almost makes me forget that there exist 'healthy' recipes for pears too!

We just tried this the other night...and decided it's not worth a repeat. The "cream" that you see there is made from blended raw cashews (and other ingredients) but doesn't make much volume at all. So, we just replaced it with ice cream, since we...

How much time did it took you to make just the cashew 'cream'?   We have so many pears this year. I've given out 2 bags to friends and there's still a pile left. I'll probably eat a few during lunches, and turn the rest into cooked-pears with ice...

We didn't even bother, Slaz. I could tell from the recipe that it wasn't what we wanted, so we just moved straight to the ice cream.

This seems to become a yearly tradition now. Every time the pear tree gives fruit, about half of it gets turned into a cake. It's actually just the recipe for a traditional apple pie, but with the apples replaced by pears. Very tasty though! I'm not...

Yum! That looks delicious! You have raisins in it, too?   Any chance you'd share your recipe?   We have apple trees AND a pear tree...

Haha tasty it was indeed. It didn't last more than 2 days.    I loaded an earlier recipe used for a few years, but I think it was this one I used as a base: http://www.bestrecipes.com.au/...apple-pie-L3136.html   (and just realized that...

Sounds nice Lori! Pies like this could be done in little time depending on how fast you can peel and dice those pears. I'm clearly no chef on that regard, lol.

I just have to chime in here to say thanks for the recipe, but I'll be making it sans raisins. Because raisins in baked goods are not ok.

Haha understandable. For centuries, raisins have been known for the "love 'em or hate 'em" mentality.
